Meet our Teachers

Kim Stevenson

E-RYT, RMT, DT Owner / Director

Kim believes that yoga, like life, is about the journey not the destination. Kim began practicing yoga in 1996 and found that it was truly a way of life.

More

She started teaching classes in 2000 and holds certificates in Classical Hatha, Kripalu Style, Yin Yoga, and Kids Yoga. Kim is registered with Yoga Alliance as an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT).

In addition, she is a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui Reiki Ryoho tradition, certified Meditation Teacher, a Dietetic Technician and an avid hiker.

She encourages her students to connect to their inner teacher – the deep inner wisdom and power that is within each of us.

Kim weaves many different styles into her classes and teaches with a sense of playfulness and experimentation. She believes that the mat invites us to express our individuality, intuition, and creativity as we find and develop our own practice.

Catherine Van Sciver

Yoga Teacher RYT-200

More

She completed her 200-hour teacher training in May 2023 with The Deeper Studies of Yoga and Meditation in the Kripalu style. She has additional training focused on yin yoga and kids-centered yoga.

Catherine’s classes welcome all bodies and energies, and she believes yoga is a fantastic way to build community.

Tiffanie Bowman

Yoga Teacher RYT-200

As a lover of movement, Tiffanie was initially led to explore yoga over twenty years ago, solely for the physical benefits.

More

As she committed to a home practice, she came to appreciate the transformative effects her practice had on her wellbeing.  As both her interest and practice deepened, she enrolled in Yogawood’s 200-hour teacher training to explore both the practice and philosophy of yoga.

Tiffanie hopes that through her teaching she will help to awaken in her students a sense of purpose, mindfulness and conscious participation in the world. More recently, after a traumatic car accident left her with multiple spinal fractures, yoga proved to be a tremendous source of healing. From that experience, she endeavors to be an example to her students, proving that yoga may offer healing from various traumas of both the mind and body

Deanna Murphy

Yoga Teacher RYT-200

Deanna believes that Yoga is a beautiful wellness tool that helps us nurture the mind, body, and spirit. Yoga brings balance and joy into Deanna's life and she hopes to guide her students so they are able to obtain the same benefits.

More

She completed her 200 hour teaching certification from Yogawoood. Deanna feels honored to share the gift of yoga with others and invites her students to be mindful of each breath and each movement, and to challenge themselves in class, yet be kind to themselves as well.

Her intention is that students feel both grounded and lifted after taking class, and that they are able to carry that feeling with them after leaving.

Melissa Walling

Yoga Teacher RYT-200

Melissa began her yoga journey in college in 1994, and has been practicing steadily ever since. Later she earned a degree in Psychology with a focus on the mind body connection.

More

As she committed to a disciplined home practice, she came to appreciate the transformative effects her practice had primarily on her mental and emotional wellbeing.

She felt the call to educate and inform her practice further so in October of 2017, she enrolled in Yogawood’s 200-hour teacher training to explore both the practice and philosophy of yoga. As a proponent of mindful living and conscious connection, she hopes that through her teaching she will help to awaken in her students a sense of purpose, mindfulness and conscious participation in the world.

Geoff's introduction to yoga came about 15 years ago while attending a class at Camden County College. That class lead to an interest in the Lourdes Institute for Wholistic Studies.

More

He completed the massage training program at Lourdes in 2011. Working as a massage therapist can take a toll on the practioners body, repetitive injuries and low back pain are common.

Geoff returned to his yoga practice as a form of self care and rediscovered the many physical and mental benefits.

Realizing that a yoga practice can change your life in ways that are both subtle and profound he enrolled in the teacher training program at the Lourdes Institute to dig deeper and share the benefits of yoga with others.

He graduated from the program in May 2018. Geoff’s first yoga class lead him to train as a massage therapist and working as a massage therapist led him back to practicing yoga.
