Learn the basics of a yoga practice in a class where everyone is brand new to yoga. You'll learn traditional poses, some beginning pranayama (breathing techniques) and some yoga history and philosophy. You'll challenge yourself as you work at your own level in a safe and supportive environment. Modifications and instruction on alignment will be offered as you practice each pose. You'll add to your base of knowledge each week and at the end of the six-week series you'll be confident and ready to graduate to some of the other classes on our schedule.
A class that unites your breath with your body offering a variety of asanas for all levels of yoga practitioners. Be prepared to calm your mind and enlighten your spirit.
Let a Kripalu-style yoga class help you unwind. The class will include yoga postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation. Kripalu yoga encourages self-compassion in a supportive environment, whether you choose to make the class gentle or challenging, through breathing, relaxing, feeling, watching, and allowing. Great for both beginners and experienced students - all are welcome to enjoy an evening of movement and inspiration.
This class is appropriate for the beginner student as well as the seasoned yogi who would like to slow down their pace. We take time moving in and out of the poses and also take time to look inward and feel the benefits of each pose. Verbal instructions and modifications are offered to encourage the student to work at their own level. This is an all levels class. Leave feeling energized and stress free.
Join us for lunch! A one-hour vinyasa yoga class for those with limited time or drop-in for the 90 minute class if you've got more time. Leave refreshed, renewed and ready to take on the rest of your day.
In a flowing sequence of poses come find the edge you've been looking for. Using movement with breath, increase your strength, coordination, concentration, and body awareness while calming your mind and reducing stress. Challenge yourself at your level and leave feeling more balanced, on the mat and off.
Our bodies need active movement, but for optimum flexibility they also need the unique opening that only yin yoga can provide. Practice long-held, seated poses to open the deeper tissues of the body-connective tissue, joints and ligaments. This class is appropriate for all levels and though some refer to it as passive yoga the challenge is in embracing the stillness. A great class for athletes wishing to balance the activity of their sport.
Combines the benefits of traditional yoga poses with weight training. Using light weights (3 to 5 pounds) and slow breath controlled movements this class will increase strength and flexibility, improve lean muscle mass and calm the mind. This class is perfect for students who are looking for a new challenge in their yoga practice, and for those who would like to add more muscle tone to their bodies. Class will consist of sets of poses using weights alternated with Sun Salutations to keep the body warm.
